At the ongoing Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the “EXPO ONIGIRI” project is currently being held at the rice ball specialty shop “ONIGIRI WOW!”, located within the ORA Food Pavilion “UTAGE”.
This project features four standard rice balls available throughout the Expo period, along with two themed categories: “Japanese Onigiri” and “World Onigiri.” Every month, four new rice balls are introduced under these themes.
As part of the “World Onigiri” lineup, the Cambodia-themed onigiri (Lok Lak Onigiri) is now available from June 11, 2025. Created through a co-creation project by the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts, this special rice ball features our S.E.A.T.S Farm brand’s Salted Kampot Pepper as one of its key ingredients.
With support from Niconico Nori Co., Ltd., this initiative brings together the iconic Cambodian dish “Lok Lak” with Japan’s beloved culinary staple—onigiri—offering a unique fusion that highlights the versatility of Cambodian flavors.
We are honored that Cambodian ingredients are gaining visibility through this exciting project, and we hope this opportunity encourages more people to explore the richness of Cambodian cuisine.
In celebration of Cambodia’s National Day on July 5, our S.E.A.T.S Farm team will be on-site in Osaka to host a three-day tasting event at the Cambodia Pavilion starting July 4.
Our original product, Salted Kampot Pepper, has been available since the opening of the Expo and will continue to be sold until the event concludes on October 13, 2025.
